First scene : 1961 - November - Patna house of Malay and Samir

Four young poets, Shakti Chattopadhyay, bearded, in his thirties, Samir Roychoudhury, in his thirties, Malay Roychoudhury and Debi Roy, in their twenties are listening to Malay who is proposing to start a literary movement. The house is three storied on Bari Path, Patna. They are on first floor, the room is just across the road. They are having liquor made of mahua which Samir has brought from Chaibasa.
The discussion centers around the name of the movement and the philosophy behind it, which Malay explains to them in detail.
They all agree. Since Shakti is known to the readers, it is suggested that a manifesto written by Malay will be published with Shakti's name as leader, Malay's name as creator and Debi Roy's name as editor.
It is also decided that Debi Roy's Howrah slum hut will be the address for the publication so that any one interested in the movement may join him.
